Conform unui document intern trimis de catre Apple tuturor tehnicienilor(geniuses) din magazinele Apple, compania nu recunoaste in mod oficial ca problemele cu semnalul la iPhone 4 ar fi legate de antena ci au legatura cu modul incorect in care este tinut telefonul si le recomanda tuturor tehnicienilor sa refuze schimbarea daca semnalul telefonului scade cand telefonul este tinut in mana. Mai mult decat atat, Apple ii forteaza pe angajatii sai sa minta si sa spuna ca iPhone 4 are cea mai buna receptie dintre toate iPhone-urile facute vreodata si ca aceste probleme pot fi rezolvate fie prin folosirea telefonului in alta pozitie fie prin cumpararea unei carcase Bumper.
Gizmodo, un site “apropiat” celor de la Apple, a initial o petitie online prin care cerea celor de la Apple sa ofere carcase Bumper gratuit pentru iPhone 4 deoarece problemele cu semnalul la iPhone 4 sunt in mod clar datorate proastei pozitionari a antenei.
