Gigantul industriei gaming-ului a anuntat astazi achizitia firmei Firemint intr-o tranzactie ce va avea loc undeva in urmatoarele 4 saptamani. Firemint este un o firma independenta dezvoltatoare de jocuri iar Flight Control si Real Racing 2 au milioane de fani in intreaga lume. Recent compania a lansat in premiera un update pentru Real Racing 2 care aduce continut grafic in format 1080p pentru celebrul joc.
Cei de la EA Games nu au anuntat cifra pentru care a fost achizitionata compania Firemint si probabil nici nu o vor anunta insa important este ca jocurile existente vor evolua. Partea buna este ca echipa celor de la Firemint va avea acum mult mai multe resurse disponibile pentru dezvoltarea jocurilor deci ne asteptam la titluri mult mai interesante in viitor insa lansate sub brandul EA Games.

(NASDAQ:ERTS) today announced an agreement to acquire Firemint Pty Ltd., the leading independent mobile development studio. Based in Melbourne, Australia, Firemint brings a proven powerhouse of creative talent to EAi, with original hits Flight Control and Real Racing for iPhone® and iPad™, and an attractive future slate of games. The deal is not material to EA overall and is expected to close within four weeks. Financial details are not disclosed.

The agreement follows EA’s recent acquisition of Mobile Post Production Inc. (MPP), the worldwide leader in high quality cross-platform development and porting of games for smartphones.
