In ceea ce priveste noul iPhone 4S am doua necunoscute: camera de 8 megapixeli si noul asistent Siri. Desigur ca ambele le voi putea testa abia dupa ce reusesc sa achizitionez noul terminal al celor de la Apple insa pana atunci va pot spune ca Siri este implementat exclusiv pentru noul iPhone 4S iar pe iPhone 4 si restul iDevice-urilor nu va functiona oficial. Chiar si asa, noi avem o comuntate a jailbreak-erilor foarte inchegata si iH8sn0w deja lucreaza la portarea noului Siri pe iPod Touch 4G iar daca totul va functiona cum trebuie se va trece la o portare si pe restul dispozitivelor.
It’s definitely not just a plist value that you have to change in order to get Siri. Thus far, it has required a lot of searching and digging. After sending all the known information to John, I’m beginning to find that it is much harder than expected. We’re using an iPod touch 4G now but our aim is to port it to all devices that Apple won’t support. At this point, we’re unsure of whether Siri requires certain hardware components or not. At this point, we can’t say but are still trying. After buying the iPhone 4S myself, I will be looking to see if there are any new files that are not available on the current iOS 5 version. This might be our stopping point.
Siri este disponibil in iOS 5 GM pentru actualele iDevice-uri insa el nu este activat de catre Apple si procesul de portare ar putea fi lung si anevoios. Cand Voice Control a fost lansat un port a fost reusit la foarte scurt timp insa atunci din pacate aplicatia se instala destul de greu si nu functiona chiar atat de bine pe vechile dispozitive. Daca Siri va fi portat pe vechile iDevice-uri ar trebui sa va asteptati ca el sa functioneze fara probleme doar pe tableta iPad 2 avand in vedere ca ea este singura care are hardware-ul necesar pentru a sustine un asemenea sistem.
