Desi Steve Jobs a aspus cat se poate de clar ca iMac-urile nu vor avea touchscreen-uri din cauza modului dificil de a interactiona cu ele, iata ca Apple ia in calcul posibila dezvoltare a unui Mac echipat cu un asemenea ecran dar nu vorbim despre iMac. Tim Cook a declarat ca un iMac echipat cu touchscreen ar fi mult prea putin practic insa un MacBook echipat cu un touchscren ar fi o cu totul alta poveste. CEO-ul Apple a evitat sa confirme/infirme zvonul privind dezvoltarea unui asemenea Mac spunand ca un roadmap nu poate fi precizat pentru un asemenea dispozitiv.
“Well, our notebooks, I wouldn’t want to answer,” he said, “because that’s sort of a roadmap question, and, you know, we like to be secretive on those things.” Although Jobs had been dismissive of all forms of touch notebook and desktop display, Cook seemed more concerned about the poor ergonomics of finger-friendly iMacs.
“Other people have tried that with desktops, and I think to say it hasn’t caught traction is probably an understatement of the year” he explained. Whereas, say, an iPhone is “sort of an intimate experience.”
Desi afirmatiile lui Cook nu sunt clare, este foarte probabil sa auzim in curand despre prototipuri ale unnor Mac-uri cu ecrane touchscreen testate de catre Apple. Compania exploreaza in mod sigur posibila lansare a unui asemenea produs si desi acum pare putin probabil sa il vedem, nu se stie cum va gandi Apple un asemenea dispozitiv.
