Acum cateva saptamani de zile Apple a anuntat ca a incheiat cu Apple un acord global de licentiere reciproca a multor tehnologii. S-a speculat ca HTC ar plati sume considerabile catre Apple pentru a folosi respectivele tehnologii, insa CEO-ul HTC a afirmat ca este multumit de acordul incheiat cu Apple si ca sumele vehiculate nu sunt reale. CEO-ul HTC nu a specificat sumele pe care le-ar plati catre Apple pentru licentierea acestor tehnologii, insa a afirmat ca, cele vehiculate in presa sunt mult prea mari.
Taiwan’s HTC Corp is happy with its patent settlement with Apple Inc, but regards media reports on details of the licensing agreement as “outrageous”, chief executive Peter Chou told reporters on Tuesday. “I think that these estimates are baseless and very, very wrong. It is a outrageous number, but I’m not going to comment anything on a specific number. I believe we have a very, very happy settlement and a good ending,” said Chou at a KDDI Corp product launch in Tokyo.
Pentru Apple, acordul cu HTC reprezinta o economie in ceea ce priveste onorariile avocatilor, o grija in minus, dar si posibilitatea de a se concentra mult mai bine pe procesele impotriva Samsung.
