Inainte ca filmarile sa inceapa pentru pelicula jOBS, Steve Wozniak a fost abordat de catre producatorii peliculei pentru a colabora la producerea ei, si a primit o versiune initiala a scenariului. Wozniak a citit scenariul, i s-a parut a fi prost gandit si a ales sa colaboreze cu Sony la producerea unei alte pelicule despre viata lui Steve Jobs, scenariul acelui film fiind scris de catre Aaron Sorkin. Wozniak spune ca scenariul initial al filmului jOBS era departe de realitate, promova drogurile intr-un mod ireal, si prezenta realatia lor intr-un mod care nu avea vreo legatura cu realitatea, Steve afirmand chiar ca primul trailer al filmului ne prezinta o scena realizata in baza imaginatiei producatorilor.
I was approached early on [for JOBS]. I read a script as far as I could stomach it and felt it was crap. The Sony people got in contact with me too and in the end I went with them. You can’t do both [films] and be paid. The early script did things like promote drugs in ways that were as foreign as the clip I saw. For example, it would have Jobs offering me drugs. I never saw Jobs do drugs nor had any offers from him. If we ever discussed drugs, he would have known that I didn’t do them but that I basically approved of them and hung around with friends who did them (in college) so he wouldn’t have felt awkward talking about them with me. Frankly, we talked about our jobs and technology and things.
Refuzand oferta celor de la jOBS, Wozniak a colaborat la producerea filmului sustinut de Sony, acesta axandu-se pe 3 momente importante din viata lui Jobs, lansarea Macintosh-ului, a companiei NeXT si a primului iPod. Acum, avand in vedere ca Wozniak este platit de catre Sony, nu se stie cat de obiectiv este el in legatura cu pelicula jOBS, insa primele review-uri au fost mixte, n-au laudat in totalitate performantele lui Kutcher sau scenariul gandit de catre producatori, insa toti spun ca filmul are potential, dar in cinematografe va ajunge abia pe 19 aprilie.
