Game Center este un serviciu lansat de catre Apple in urma cu mai bine de doi ani de zile, el permitand posesorilor din iDevice-uri sa tina evidenta evolutiei lor in jocuri, sa obtina bonusuri in jocuri, sa isi provoace prietenii in jocuri online si multe altele. Desi Game Center are o vechime atat de mare, deocamdata cei de la Google nu s-au grabit sa lanseze un competitor, insa Google I/O-ul viitor ar putea aduce exact ceea ce are piata nevoie. Google Play Games ar urma sa se numeasca serviciul celor de la Google, el ar urma sa ofere partial aceeasi functionalitate mentionata anterior pentru Game Center, insa ar urma sa fie disponibil exclusiv pe platforma Android.

Separat de ceea ce v-am spus eu deja, Google Play Games ar urma sa permita utilizatorilor sa salveze progresul facut in jocuri si ar urma utilizatorilor posibilitatea de a accesa un chat intern. Desi multi le-au cerut celor de la Apple sa ofere o functionalitate similara pentru Game Center, compania americana nu si-a prea dat interesul pentru a implementa asemenea servicii, insa poate Google Play Games vor aduce FaceTime Chat sau Text Chat in Game Center-ul pentru iDevice-uri.
