Decizia companiei Apple de a nu oferi date despre numarul de precomenzi inregistrate pentru iPhone 5C pare sa aiba la baza interesul scazut al utilizatorilor, cifrele fiind net inferioare celor din alti ani. Daca in China un operator ar fi inregistrat 100.000 de precomenzi pentru noile dispozitive, in Marea Britanie cifra este mare chiar si pentru toti operatorii locali. Conform celor de la The Guardian, in anii trecuti fiecare operator inregistra intre 75.000 si 100.000 de precomenzi pentru iPhone-uri, insa anul acesta cifrele sunt de pana la 10 ori mai mici.
“It’s been a big disappointment,” said a mobile network source. “We are seeing a decline in the number of pre-orders. They are 60% to 70% less than we were expecting, and we didn’t expect them to be massively high given it’s not the flagship model.” UK networks have taken between 75,000 and 100,000 advance orders in previous years for new Apple phones, but say this year’s level of interest is far lower. “This is one tenth of those numbers,” said the source.”Pre-orders have not been what we expect them to be by a long stretch,” said a source at a second operator. “It was a big surprise that there were only pre-orders on the 5C. Apple have deliberately done it because investors will be looking at whether they can be successful in the mid-range market. The 5C is the device that will move their business from the premium market to a company that sells something for everyone.”
Niciunul dintre reprezentatii operatorilor nu a avut cuvinte bune despre numarul de precomenzi inregistrate pentru aceasta serie de terminale iPhone, insa toti se asteptau ca cifrele sa fie mici. iPhone 5C a inlocuit iPhone 5 si practic erau extrem de greu de crezut ca interesul va fi mare pentru dispozitiv, lumea fiind foarte interesata de iPhone 5S, care nu este disponibil pentru precomanda. Chiar daca iPhone 5C este un dispozitiv nou, doar carcasa colorata il diferentiaza de iPhone 5, iar majoritatea utilizatorilor nu sunt dispusi sa investeasca in el.
Daca Apple ar fi oferit si iPhone 5S pentru precomanda, atunci cifrele ar fi fost complet altele, insa compania are stocuri extrem de reduse pentru terminalul sau high-end, asa ca el va fi extrem de greu de gasit.
