Apple face o investitie uriasa pentru a asigura viitorul telefoanelor iPhone intr-o perioada in care compania are probleme serioase cu vanzarile la nivel global. Mai exact, cei de la Apple investesc 100 de milioane de dolari in compania Japan Display pentru a o ajuta sa produca in continuare ecrane LCD, ea fiind aproape de a intra in faliment.
Apple primeste 60% din productia actuala a Japan Display, deci este intr-o anumita masura dependenta de companie, si investeste in ea pentru a-i asigura continua functionare.
“Apple has decided to invest US $ 100 million (approximately ¥ 10.7 billion) in liquid crystal panel major Japan Display (JDI), which is undergoing restructuring . For JDI, Apple is a major customer that accounts for 60% of its most recent sales. As the framework of financial support by the China-Taiwan business alliance breaks down, we will seek the support of major customers and establish a course of reconstruction.”
