De luni de zile ni se tot spune ca iPhone 5 va avea un ecran construit folosind tehnologia in-cell si iata ca acest lucru se dovedeste a fi complet adevarat. Apple afirma pe website-ul sau ca ecranul din iPhone 5 este primul construit folosind respectiva tehnologie, iar mai jos descrie exact tehnologia in-cell pe care multe zvonuri au prezentat-o. Practic in ecranul iPhone 5 pixelii includ si electrozii tactili, panoul tactil fiind mult mai subtire decat cel din iPhone 4S, iar asta a permis reducerea dimensiunii dispozitivului, dar si imbunatatirea calitatii imaginilor oferite pe ecran.
Making a thinner, lighter iPhone meant even the display had to be thinner. Apple engineers accomplished that by creating the first Retina display with integrated touch technology. Which means instead of a separate layer of touch electrodes between display pixels, the pixels do double duty — acting as touch-sensing electrodes while displaying the image at the same time.
