Conform ziarului The Washington Post, guvernul federal din SUA va introduce o noua lege care va da utilizatorilor de iPhone posibilitatea de a face jailbreak, de a isi decoda telefoanele si de a instala aplicatii neacceptate de Apple complet legal. Pana acum Apple considera jailbreaking-ul/decodare ca practici ilegale si refuza sa primeasca in garantie orice telefon jailbroken/decodat insa daca ceasta lege va trece atunci Apple va fi obligata sa renunte la aceste masuri.
Owners of the iPhone will be able to break electronic locks on their devices in order to download applications that have not been approved by Apple. The government is making that legal under new rules announced Monday….Another exemption will allow owners of used cell phones to break access controls on their phones in order to switch wireless carriers.
Nu stiu cata influenta are Apple asupra guvernului american insa daca aceasta lege va fi aprobata atunci e foarte probabil ca numarul celor care fac jailbreak sa creasca enorm de mult.
Voi ce parere aveti, va fi jailbreak-ul declarat legal in SUA?.
UPDATE : Iata cateva noutati in legatura cu viitoarele reglementari :
- allow owners of used cell phones to break access controls on their phones in order to switch wireless carriers.
- allow people to break technical protections on video games to investigate or correct security flaws.
- allow college professors, film students and documentary filmmakers to break copy-protection measures on DVDs so they can embed clips for educational purposes, criticism, commentary and noncommercial videos.
- allow computer owners to bypass the need for external security devices called dongles if the dongle no longer works and cannot be replaced.
