Transport Tycoon este unul dintre jocurile pe care eu il astept cu nerabdare in App Store, stiu ca multi dintre voi il asteapta la fel de mult, asa ca va dau o veste nu foarte buna acum, deoarece el va trebui achizitionat. Jocul a fost complet rescris deoarece portarea sa este imposibila, grafica a fost actualizata, meniul a fost refacut pentru a fi compatibil cu terminalele mobile, insa experienta de joc va fi aceeasi pe care o stiam cu totii. Practic, versiunea pentru terminale mobile a Transport Tycoon va fi una actualizata la standardele de astazi, dar cu un gameplay vechi, insa extrem de atractiv.
The game is completely re-written (a consequence of the original games being written in 8086 Assembler, which can’t be recompiled for other platforms), but the game design is very much based on my older games with updated interface and controls to suit mobile platforms. The graphical style of the game (fixed viewpoint isometric) I think really works well on devices like the iPad and iPhone – It shows a lot of rich detail in a small screen area, and together with the touchscreen interface makes the game feel very tactile. It’s a paid title. The game doesn’t suit the free-to-play revenue model, and I’m also not a great fan of the way free-to-play titles try to make money through in-game purchases or advertising.
Versiunea ce urmeaza sa apara in App Store va trebui achizitionata de catre cei interesati, dezvoltatorul nefiind un fan al modelului freemium, care are atat de mult succes in App Store. Avand in vedere popularitatea jocului, e greu de crezut ca vor exista persoane care vor refuza sa il cumpere, chiar daca pretul de vanzare ar putea fi cuprins intre 5 – 10€, deoarece vorbim totusi despre un joc foarte complex. Transport Tycoon pentru iOS urmeaza sa ajunga in App Store undeva spre finalul acestui an.
