TrickBot este un nou malware extrem de periculos care a fost folosit pentru a sparte sute de milioane de conturi de email pana in momentul de fata. Conform celor mai recente informatii, se pare ca 250 de milioane de conturi de email au fost sparte de catre TrickBot, inclusiv unele apartinand unor agenti guvernamentali.
TrickBot exista inca din anul 2016, insa a inceput sa sparga in masa adrese de email abia in ultimul, pentru a aduna in final in numar foarte mare in lumea intreaga. Conturile de email au fost furate de catre TrickBot folosind atacuri de tip phishing, adica emal-uri cu link-uri spre website-uri cu exploit-uri, apoi software-ul trimidea de pe email-uri sparte mail-uri catre alte conturi.
Milioane de email-uri ale angaatilor unor guverne au fost sparte de TrickBot
TrickBot ar fi reusit sa sparga cateva milioane de conturi de email apartinand unor agenti guvernamentali, deci vorbim despre o problema foarte grava. Adresele celelalte apartin tuturor marilor servicii de email existente in momentul de fata, TrickBot reusind sa adune conturi de la mai toata lumea, dar sunt multi care nu stiu ce li s-a intamplat.
During our investigation of this new module and the network infrastructure associated with it, we were able to access infection servers from which the malware is downloaded onto victim machines, as well as command and control servers. We managed to recover a data base containing 250 million e-mail accounts harvested by TrickBot operators, which most likely were also employed as lists of targets for malicious delivery and infection. The data base includes millions of addresses from government departments and agencies in the US and the UK.
