La doua luni de la lansarea iOS 5.1 si la mai bine de doua saptamani de la lansarea iOS 5.1.1, iata ca avem in sfarsit disponibil Absinthe 2.0, solutia de untethered jailbreak pentru iDevice-urile noastre. Folosind acest program puteti face jailbreak oricarui iDevice pe iOS 5.1.1, insa pe iOS 5.1 puteti face jailbreak doar terminalelor lansate inainte de tableta iPad 2. Chiar si asa, oricine poate face acum update la iOS 5.1.1 prin iTunes, deci solutia poate fi utilizata de catre oricine fara probleme.

Daca aveti o versiune veche a iOS, aveti nevoie de unlock si doriti sa faceti untethered jailbreak pentru iOS 5.1.1, este recomandabil sa faceti un custom ipsw cu redsn0w si pe acela sa il folositi pentru update. Acel custom ipsw pastreaza intact baseband-ul iDevice-ului vostru si va asigura posibilitatea de a folosi o cartela Gevey pentru unlock. Ultrasn0w nu este compatibil cu iOS 5.1.1, insa ultrasn0w fixer pentru iOS 5.1.1 va da posibilitatea de a face unlock fara probleme daca aveti un baseband deblocabil.
Daca aveti decodare facuta cu SAM si ati salvat-o in calculatorul vostru, atunci acest tutorial va ajuta sa o repuneti dupa jailbreak. Nu conteaza ce baseband aveti, decodarea va fi oricum efectuata.
Daca aveti deja tethered jailbreak facut pe iOS 5.1.1, atunci urmati acest tutorial pentru a face untethered jailbreak folosind Rocky Racoon. Absinthe nu face hactivare, insa cu ajutorul sn0wbreeze 2.9.4 puteti face un custom ipsw activat si untethered jailbroken pentru iDevice-urile lansate inainte de iPad 2.

Pasul 2 – pas optional
Conectati iDevice-ul la calculator si deschideti iTunes. Selectati iDevice-ul din meniul din partea dreapta, spoi alegeti optiunea back up pentru a efectua un backup iDevice-ului vostru. Dupa efectuarea acestei operatiuni mergeti in Settings>General>Reset si alegeti optiunea Reset all content and settings. Alegerea acestri optiuni va asigura de efectuarea unui jailbreak rapid. Efectuarea backup-ului este optionala si are menirea de a reduce timpul de efectuare a jailbreak-ului.
Pasul 3
Dupa stergerea continutului deschideti Absinthe 2.0 si vi se va deschide o fereastra cu foarte multe linii de cor care va rula pentru cateva minute si se va opri. Acest proces construieste practic programul de jailbreak pentru iDevice-ul vostru, iar dupa ce termina veti vedea un nou folder Absinthe in folderul unde ati descarcat deja executabilul.
Pasul 4
Accesati executabilul Absinthe.exe din folderul nou facut si apasati butonul Jailbreak apoi lasati programul sa isi faca treaba. Dupa apasarea butonului Jailbreak programul va incepe sa implementeze exploit-ul iar iDevice-ul vostru va trece prin mai multe stari, inclusiv cea de Restore, insa nu va alarmati, totul este perfect normal. Procesul in sine ar trebui sa dureze maxim 5 minute in functie de calculatorul vostru. Daca aveti un PIN setat cartelei, introduceti-l dupa resetarea iDevice-ului altfel jailbreak-ul nu va fi complet.
Pasul 5
Dupa terminarea jailbreak-ului reconectati iDevice-ul la iTunes, selectatil din meniul din partea dreapta si alegeti optiunea Restore from backup(daca ati facut backup initial). iTunes va repune backup-ul facut de voi si asta e tot.
Dupa resetarea dispozitivului ar trebui sa aveti Cydia instalata si sa o puteti folosi. Nu uitati ca in zilele imediat urmatoare lansarii solutiei de jailbreak Cydia va avea probleme de functionalitate.

AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS – 25th May 2012 – Today @pod2g and the @ChronicDevTeam announced the highly anticipated release of Absinthe 2.0 at #HITB2012AMS held at the Okura Hotel in Amsterdam.
Known as the “iOS Jailbreak Dream Team”, @p0sixninja, @pod2g, @planetbeing, @pimskeks released the untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1.1 on the final day of the week-long conference. Echoing Steve Jobs’ trademark WWDC encore of ‘… and one more thing’, the team announced the release of Absinthe 2.0 during the closing minutes of their 2 hours talk at the conference.
Absinthe 2.0 will affect the majority of Apple devices running iOS 5.1.1 including iPad 1,1 – 2,1 – 2,2 – 2,3 – 3,1 – 3,2 – 3,3, the iPhone 2,1 – 3,1 – 3,3 – 4,1 and iPod 3,1 – 4,1. The jailbreak does not support the third generation Apple TV and support for iPad 2,4 will be added at a later date.

The release announcement came after recent rife speculation spreading through online social networks on the actual release date and scope of Absinthe 2.0. The jailbreak community’s interest was first piqued when the team announced they were scheduled to appear at HITBSecConf2012 – Amsterdam to deliver not one but two talks covering both the Corona (A4) and Absinthe (A5) jailbreaks for Apple devices. On the 20th of May, a tweet from team member @pod2g stating the release of Absinthe 2.0 was ‘in a matter of days’ led to further speculation that the final release would be made at HITBSecConf which ran from 21 – 25 May.
