Romania continues to carry out the operations it assumed as part of its Schengen accession, and this is because it has the obligation to protect the borders of the European Union at the moment, and according to the authorities, we are talking about new foreign citizens who were detected trying to illegally cross the border into Hungary.

Romania carries out operations to detect attempts to illegally cross the border to Hungary, through controls carried out near the borders by the Border Police, as part of the obligations after joining Schengen, and 4 citizens from Afghanistan, Syria and Iran were detected, trying to illegally cross into Hungary.

Romania has announced multiple discoveries of this kind in recent weeks, but all of them targeting very small numbers of people, because Schengen accession was allowed and because our country has managed to substantially reduce illegal border crossings, and now continues to detect any kind of attempts to force illegal crossings through the state borders.

"Border police officers from the Nădlac Border Police Sector detected, during control activities, four citizens from Afghanistan, Syria and Iran without the right to travel to the Schengen area. Border police officers from the Nădlac Border Police Sector carried out random and unsystematic checks on the A1 Deva - Nădlac highway.

A car registered in Romania, driven by a Romanian citizen, was stopped for inspection, with four foreign citizens traveling as passengers. At the time of the checks, our colleagues found that the passengers did not have documents to travel in the Schengen area, which is why the people and the means of transport were taken to the institution's headquarters for further investigations."
